For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Near Mint Restored 1946 Parker Azure/Blue Pearl Celluloid Fountain Pen in the Major Size. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, put back together, and is now in wonderful writing condition.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the NIB, feed, section, and breather tube. Replaced the old diaphragm with a new, properly sized one. I have hand polished the Gold Filled Diamond Clip, Gold Filled Chevron Cap Banding (///\\\), and 14K NIB. Cleaned, Buffed, and Polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and protect the material of the fountain pen. This Parker Vacumatic is a major size that measures 5 1/8" in length capped and 6" posted.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs with the cap always securing tightly to the barrel. The cap has the split arrow gold-filled blue diamond clip and is in perfect condition with no brassing. The chevron cap banding is in excellent condition with no brassing. The top jewel is black and has been polished to bring back a gorgeous shine. The barrel is clearly stamped with, "Geo. S. Parker Vacumatic Made in U.S.A. with date code 6, for 1946, in the 1st quarter". COLLECTOR ALERT: The transparency of the barrel is WATER CLEAR, almost like the day it left the factory. The blind cap securely fits. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel.
The Vacumatic Filling System has been restored and now works great, typically in my tests with water about 9-12 presses to fill full. I have greased the filling unit so it operates smoothly and now operates flawlessly.
The Parker NIB is a 14K gold Split Arrow NIB with a date match code of 1946 in Q1. The actual writing portion of the 14K Parker NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .45mm when measured with digital calipers and writes smoothly. When writing a sample, this NIB writes with an extra-fine to medium line/stroke. The extra-fine stroke measures at .41mm with light pressure and the medium line/stroke measures at .72mm when measured with digital calipers under medium to firm pressure. The sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
This is a Vintage Parker Vacumatic Fountain Pen in the Azure/Blue Pearl color and is in Near Mint Condition. These are hard to find with water-clear barrels, no trim wear, and vibrant Azure coloring. I grade this Parker Vac in Excellent to Near Mint Condition. It is ready to write or just add to your writing arsenal collection.
