As ever when a new season is upon us we look to innovate and experiment. We have always liked mixing different textures of leather together and love the handcrafted feel it gives to the belts. This new Belmondo design (named of course after uber stylish French Film icon Jean Paul Belmondo) in classic black, is an elegant streamlined belt with dadino textured leather inset into the arrow shaped tip to contrast against the smoother cordovan leather surface. The delicate perforation adds a little extra definition and adds to the sleek handcrafted look. The resulting belt is one that is crisp and innovative, showing lovely hand workmanship and real attention to detail. For us the design itself is strong enough that our resulting buckle choice is naturally more low key - we selected this polished steel finish buckle with its soft edges to add a clean cut look and keep the focus firmly on the belt detailing. This is a belt that could be worn casually but will be especially good with smarter casual wear/eveningwear and could even sneak its way into more formal occasions too.
