Vandals faithful know this basketball script like the back of their hands – after all, one of Idaho’s most successful men’s basketball programs wore it. The 1981-82 team took all of basketball by storm, starting their year 16-0, winning the Big Sky Conference, and advancing to the 1982 Sweet Sixteen. Coached by Idaho alum Don Monson, the Vandals received national attention after taking down teams in the major conferences, but are probably best known for their impressive second-round win against the Iowa Hawkeyes at the 1982 NCAA Tournament.
