Even if you are not overly interested in time trialling or triathlons, just looking at the De Rosa TT-03 will make you want to improve your flexibility and take on some of those tough races against the clock. The engineers at spent a couple years conceptualizing, testing, prototyping, redesigning and finally refining their designs until they were satisfied that they had made the best possible bike with the best possible materials. From modelling the first designs on the computer to testing the actual bikes in the wind tunnel, De Rosa has made certain to leave no avenue unexplored in the attempt to make this the fastest bike on the start line. Aerodynamics of course must be the central focus for a time trial bike. Consequently the De Rosa designers have taken the front end of the bike and sculpted it to ensure the head tube and fork slice through the wind. The oversized teardrop shaped down tube works with the edged-off top tube to ensure the airflow remains undisturbed. And the seat tube has been curved to follow the line of the rear wheel to allow for as little space as possible between the wheel and tube, keeping the smoothness of the airflow line.

The carbon layup has also been given a load of attention since the bike needs to be rigid without offering a bone jarring ride. The TT-03 does an admirable job of balancing those two needs and manages everything while keeping the frame pretty light for a time trial and tri-specific bike. The press fit BB86 bottom bracket offers a suitably generous core from which all the oversized and specialized tubes can extend, enhancing the rigidity and capacity for power output. The rest of the frame has been equally well-thought out with internal cable routing and capacity for electronic and mechanical groupsets.
